Matt Stepovich
Founder, President and CEO
Matt Stepovich serves as Onpharma’s President and CEO, a position he has held since co-founding the Company in 2005. Prior to Onpharma, Mr. Stepovich co-founded technology start-up, Telocity, where he served as the Company’s Senior Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, playing an active role in the Company’s IPO (TLCT) and subsequent sale to Hughes Electronics. Before this, Mr. Stepovich served as a corporate lawyer with Gray Cary Ware & Friedenrich (now DLA Piper) in Palo Alto, where he advised and worked with a number of successful start-up companies. As a seasoned entrepreneur, Mr. Stepovich has been active and successful for over 20 years in building businesses; forming, financing, and staffing new companies, growing them into high volume revenue generating enterprises, and taking them to liquidity. Mr. Stepovich has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara, an MBA from Pepperdine University's Graziadio School of Business, and a JD from the Pepperdine University School of Law.
Mic Falkel, DDS
Founder, Chief Medical Officer
Mic Falkel, DDS, co-founded the Company and serves as its Chief Medical Officer. In addition to his role with Onpharma, Dr. Falkel maintains his private General Dentistry practices in Monterey, California, where he is a Partner in the Monterey Peninsula Dental Group. Dr. Falkel is active in the dental profession having served on the Board of Directors of the Monterey Bay Dental Society from 1998-2005 and as its President from 2002-2004. Dr. Falkel received his Doctorate in Dental Science from the University of the Pacific, and his Bachelors Degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the State University of New York, at Albany. Dr. Falkel conducted a general practice residency in Dentistry at the Wadsworth Veteran’s Administration Hospital in West Los Angeles.
Mark Foley
Executive Chairman
Mark Foley serves as the Company’s Executive Chairman and has over 25 years of operating, investment and start-up experience in the health care field. Mr. Foley is a partner at RWI Ventures where he focuses on Life Science investments, having led Series A investments in companies such as Sonitus (Voted #1 Medical Innovation for 2010 by the Cleveland Clinic) and Voyage Medical (co-investors are Kleiner Perkins, Three Arch, Abbott and Stanford). Prior to RWI Ventures, Mr. Foley founded and was CEO of cardiac device company, Ventrica, which was acquired by Medtronic in 2004. Before this, Mr. Foley held senior operating roles with companies such as Perclose (acquired by Abbot), Guidant Corporation, DVI (acquired by Eli Lilly), and US Surgical Corporation. Mr. Foley is a named inventor on 13 patents and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Sonitus, Voyage Medical and Zeltiq Aesthetics. Mr. Foley has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Rick Van Hoesen
CFO
Rick Van Hoesen joined Onpharma as its Chief Financial Officer after serving for nearly four years as Executive Vice President and CFO of Epocrates, Inc., a medical technology company and provider of mobile drug reference applications for physicians and other health care professionals. During his tenure, Epocrates increased its market penetration among US physicians from 25% to 40%, and increased annual revenues from less than $50 million to nearly $100 million. Prior to Epocrates, Mr. Van Hoesen served as CFO for several publicly-held Bay Area companies, including NetIQ and Micro Focus, and has nearly 30 years of experience in finance, administration, investor relations, manufacturing and operations. He has an undergraduate degree in Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Michael Parsons
VP Operations, General Counsel
Michael Parsons serves as our company’s Vice President of Operations, General Counsel and Director of Investor Relations. Prior to joining Onpharma, Mr. Parsons served as the General Counsel of Cupertino Capital and the Vice President and General Counsel of DirecTV Broadband. Mr. Parsons has an undergraduate degree in Law and Society from University of California Santa Barbara and a JD from the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law.
